How It Works
In the 1950’s, a British endocrinologist, Dr. Simeons, identified a natural hormone produced in the body of pregnant women that converts stored body fat into nutrition for the growing baby. He theorized that by giving this hormone to overweight patients in conjunction with a low calorie diet, he could encourage the mobilization of fats for energy and prevent muscle breakdown. By 1967, weight-loss patients from around the world flocked to Dr. Simeons’ clinic in Rome to undergo his weight loss program. Amazingly, the patients reported that even though they were adhering to the low-calorie diet, they experienced no hunger, supporting the notion that the body was indeed breaking down the fat stores for energy. It is estimated that an average of 2000 calories are liberated daily from the injections which results in weight loss without feeling hungry or tired for most people.
Today, there has been a resurgence in the use of this hormone for both men and women in weight loss plans such as the Rapid Weight Loss Program. Dr. Simeons’ protocol has been modified by modern-day nutritional and physiological knowledge to be more effective and safer for patients.
