My Approach to Medicine

I have a vision for healthcare where, from the moment you enter your appointment, you feel safe to voice your concerns, listened to, and  hopeful about what we can achieve together. This is what I strive to achieve with each one of my patients.

I also believe health goes beyond so much more than the physical symptoms we are currently experiencing. I am confident that the prevention of disease holds as much weight as the treatment of current concerns.

I feel so honoured to have been trusted with the health of such a large number of people over the past 8 years. I have had the opportunity to work with people in all stages of health, including from the initial diagnosis of disease, to states of extreme vulnerability, to the relief that comes when they finally feel like themselves again.

My practice style is largely functional medicine based, meaning that I appreciate that things like our genetic makeup can influence how well different therapies work for each person. This approach strives to optimize the function of each organ system, at the same time as providing treatment for disease that is individualized rather than having a one-size-fits-all approach for each diagnosis.

Augmented Treatments

In addition to education in all of the standard naturopathic sciences, I am proud to have the following certifications to allow for a greater scope of treatment for my patients:

  • Prescriptive Authority
  • Immunization
  • IV Therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Cosmetic botulinum toxin
Best of Kelowna 2019 Finalist

I feel so honoured to have been nominated as the Best Health Practitioner in Kelowna in 2019 and 2022.  Thank you so much for this recognition!

My Educational Journey

I received my training in naturopathic medicine from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine after graduating with a bachelor of science from the University of British Columbia. Coming from a science and research background, I  believe in using evidence-based medicine to guide my diagnoses and treatments. The end result is confidence in gentle, yet effective, treatments.

I have previously taught pathology and physiology at the Boucher Institute. It was a pleasure to be able to instill my knowledge into the future naturopathic doctors and give back to the profession that I feel so passionate about.

My Practice Focus

I am a primary care naturopathic physician but my practice focus has primarily been on digestive health, hormone balancing and medical weight loss. As a naturopathic physician, I am able to diagnose and treat conditions using both conventional medical and naturopathic approaches in order to find the safest yet most effective treatment for you. My ultimate goal is to get down to the root of what your problem is to make you feel better!

Who I Am

I am a wife and mother of a little boy. Spending time with my family is what I enjoy most, whether that is going for a walk through City Park or going on a camping trip. I love being outdoors and in the forest – you can often find me hiking one of our local mountains to scope out the view at the top! One of my greatest accomplishments to date has been trekking to Mount Everest base camp prior to starting medical school. My hobbies include hot yoga and as of recent, pottery!
